Ticketmaster Is Offering Full Refunds On Shows And Events Canceled. Here’s What You Need To Know

Ticketmaster has finally announced that they are finalizing plans to refund customers.

This will be for about 18,000 events that have been canceled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of the artists that have canceled shows already are Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and more.

Starting on May 1st, 2020, customers will begin getting emails from Ticketmaster to start the refund process.

Customers will then have 30 days to request a full refund.

If they do not request a refund the tickets will be good for the new dates for the rescheduled shows.

Dates that are affected by this decision by Ticketmaster run through July.

Ticketmaster has around 55,000 shows on the calendar (about 2 billion in ticket sales!) for 2020. Those shows that are scheduled for after July will be dealt with at a later date.

Live Nation is offering fans the option to receive credit for canceled or postponed shows through a program called ‘Rock When You Are Ready. Or they can choose to donate their tickets to health care workers through another program called the ‘Hero Nation’.

For canceled shows, refunds will be automatically processed within 30 days, unless fans voluntarily opt into other programs. Live Nation venues will offer fans an option to receive a 150% credit for the value of their tickets to be used for a future Live Nation show. Fans will also be able to donate the proceeds of their refund to a charity to give concert tickets to health care workers, with Live Nation matching ticket donations.
