There Is A Trail in Kentucky That Glows With Over 5,000 Professionally Carved Jack-O’-Lanterns And I’m On My Way
When I walked out this morning to take the dogs out, I was pleasantly surprised. The air was crisp and clean feeling instead of a thick humid sauna. I love fall and everything it brings, especially Halloween!
I love seeing people starting to decorate for Halloween already! Some of the skills that people have with carving pumpkins blow me away! I’m ok with making a simple old school Jack- O’-Lantern, but wow… some of y’all are so artistic and creative with it!
If you love this season like I do, then you will probably want to check out an amazing seasonal event. It’s called “The Louisville Jack-O’-Lantern Spectacular”.
The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular isn’t a new event. It began in Oxford, Massachusetts way back in 1988! This Louisville event is celebrating its 8th year this year. It’s held in Iroquois Park and features 5,000 carved pumpkins that illuminate the night.
It’s basically an art show and pumpkins are the medium. You can visit daily starting at dusk until 11 p.m., weekdays (Sunday-Thursday). On Friday & Saturday, they close at midnight.
This is such an amazing looking event! Fun for the entire family, or maybe a special date night?
I’m so jealous, I want to see the night illuminated with 5,000+ pumpkins with more than 100 of those carved into magnificent pieces of art. They also have themed scenes and music. Proceeds benefit the Louisville Parks Foundation.
This year the event is scheduled for October 1st through November 1st, 2020. It’s a drive-thru event! It’s $35 for Cars/SUVs/Minivans, and then $50 for Passenger Vans/Limos/RVs.
