Toys ‘R’ Us Is Back and Will Open U.S. Stores in 2019!
I can remember the sadness that swept our household when the last Toys R Us location closed for good last year. I immediately thought that my daughter would never know what it was like to be a “Toys R Us Kid”.
But then, earlier this year it was announced that Toys R Us was returning and since that time we haven’t heard anymore until now…

Richard Barry, a former Toys “R” Us executive who is now CEO of the new entity Tru Kids Inc., has been pitching his vision to reincarnate the chain to toymakers.
While they haven’t wanted to publicly share too many details on the reopening of the stores, we do know the stores are going to be about 10,000-square feet, roughly a third of the size of the brand’s big-box outlets that closed last year.
The locations will also have more experiences, like play areas.
So, smaller stores and more experiences is what is on the horizon so far. Sounds good to me!
So, when will Toys R Us Reopen?
Some areas are already seeing Toys R Us locations reopening. Other areas will see stores begin opening closer to the holiday season this year.

Well I hope they learn to compete with other retailers. While I love Toys r us, their prices were too high & the refusal to compete with other chains or e-commerce resulted in money lost. With other retailers selling the same items with cheaper prices or willingness to bargain, I don’t see Toys r us being successful in the future.
As a shopper with 2 small children, I’m looking for bargains, catchy deals, and of course good quality. Their “Black Friday” deal weren’t the cheapest.
You realize TRU matched any and all competitors prices. We would have them price match all the time to give them business. The process was seem less and easy.
Glad to see the Toys r us are returning. Surely there is room for them!
Hello I’m just wondering as to what date you think the will reopen in roanoke va
