It is perfect for that. I do not try to walk with the feet on but rather un-zip half way, fold them up and tie them to my legs and wear my boots with my ice grips if its snowy. When I crawl into my bed I remove the boots and zip up the feet. When I took them completely off it was hard to see in the dark to get them on again.

I love the front pocket for my flashlight and small notebook and I love the way the hands are extra warm with the little slit to stick your hands out when you need them. It even has Velcro to hold them back out of your way for doing stuff.
