You Can Listen To Patrick Stewart Read Shakespeare Online and I Want More
I’m sure you are at home right now, well…I hope you are! I have something pretty cool to share with you!
You may be a fan because of Star Trek, but I am a fan because of X-Men. Patrick Stewart is a pretty nice guy. In public, he seems pretty normal to me.
I once sat near Patrick Stewart in a theater while watching Elton John on stage, I didn’t bother him. I just kind of sat near him, and he just sat there like a normal person watching an amazing show.
That really has nothing to do with this post other than to say he seemed like a pretty laid back dude.
Being a cool, nice guy he wanted to do something to help entertain those of us that are stuck at home. Once upon a time, he was a Shakespearian actor.
When I was a child in the 1940s, my mother would cut up slices of fruit for me (there wasn’t much) and as she put it in front of me she would say, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” How about, “A sonnet a day keeps the doctor away”? So…here we go: Sonnet 1.
Patrick Stewart
Saturday he posted a video on twitter of him reciting Shakespeare. Sonnet 116 to be exact.
People were so thrilled about it that on Sunday he did another!
I was delighted by the response to yesterday’s posting of Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116, and it has led me to undertake what follows…
Patrick Stewart
He plans to post more videos of him reciting the sonnets, in fact, it seems like he may do it for as long as the quarantine continues. Be sure to follow his Twitter so you can see them as he posts!
