An ‘Animaniacs’ Reboot Is Headed To Hulu And I Can’t Wait
This is totally insaney!!
It is a good day, indeed. First, we learned that they are going to reboot Tiny Toons from the 1990s, and NOW we find out the Animaniacs are going to get a new show on Hulu, and I am straight-up giddy!!
Remember the Animaniacs? We used to religiously watch Yakko, Wakko, and Dot EVERY afternoon as part of the WB afternoon programming.
If we are going to be honest, I wasn’t exactly a child when I watched this hilarious cartoon variety-type show. Don’t judge — a lot of the jokes were aimed at an adult audience, anyway, AMIRITE?!?
This NEW generation of Animaniacs is going to find its home on Hulu starting in November — so now is the time to reup your Hulu membership.
Steven Spielberg, who executive produced the OG Animaniacs is bringing the show back for this second go. He is also the genius bringing back Tiny Toons to HBO Max, and I’d like to personally thank the man!
This week, at the New York Comic Con, this teaser trailer for Animaniacs was released, and as you can imagine, people went nuts!
The clip starts out with animated versions Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler from Jurassic Park, who just happen to stumble upon the Warner brothers — and the Warner sister — while out on an expedition.
“Alan, this species of cartoon has been extinct since 1998. I mean, these haven’t been seen on TV since the golden era of animation!” Ellie exclaimes to a cartoon Alan, who is staring off in the distance at something coming over the horizon.
As she is talking, Alan turns her head with his hand, just as the Animaniacs crest over the horizon, and the fun ensues.
An animated Steven Spielberg appears, to let the world know that he has reanimated this long lost cartoon for a new generation. And, guess what — Pinky and the Brain are coming along for the ride as well! Gah!!
Look for 13 brand new episodes of Animaniacs to premier on Hulu November 20th.
