This Boy Donated His Christmas Money To Help Another Boy Get A Service Dog And My Heart Is Full
If you’ve been here for a bit, you know that I have a service dog named Furiosa. She is a Great Dane that works medical alert, mobility, and other tasks that help me.

Today I read a story about a young boy named Simon Teece. Simon is only 9 years old and has the biggest heart EVER.
He lives in Minnesota and he had $100 that he had received for Christmas. The thing is, he chose to donate that $100.
I got a $100 bill for Christmas this year, and it was too much to keep.
Simon Teece – Letter to ‘Can Do Canines’
He sent a letter to ‘Can Do Canines’ which is a nonprofit that provides service dogs to those with disabilities free of charge. This organization runs off of donations to help as many people as they can.
I hadn’t even had $80 in my allowance ever! I wanted to give to a charity, but I didn’t [know] which one. Then my mom suggested Can Do Canines.

I am here to tell you that service dogs are expensive!
Now thanks to the help of Simon’s donation, another boy about the same age gets a service dog.
Simon was able to meet Drake and his service dog named Flynn. Drake is 10 years old and has cerebral palsy.

With the help of Flynn for mobility assistance, he will have more independence, which is so important… trust me I know!
Certainly, the dog will help with some independencies and getting around the house and getting things around the house.

Heart of gold
When the two children met, it was Drake that then gave Simon a letter. This one was a letter of thanks!

That money helps for training dogs like Flynn. Thank you, Simon for being so generous, from Drake.
Thank you letter from Drake
Needless to say, Drake is super excited! He will be training with Flynn this weekend, and this is just the beginning!
Simon: grandma and Pa are so very proud to know we have a grandson with a heart of gold. We have a neighbor right down the street that who, tomorrow is picking up a Labrador puppy for her to train in her house as a “ therapy dog” ( not a service dog) there is a difference… all are incredible; you have made a big difference in your young life; be proud of yourself as we are.

Simon should be an inspiration for us all, what a generous heart he has!
