You guys, I am tired. Maybe it’s because I stay up late writing my book or maybe it’s the fact I spend almost all day cleaning up messes one of my boys made. When I say “boys” I am not just referring to my two sons, I am talking about my husband and even our new puppy (Drogo) that just happens to be a boy too. Boys are tough to take care of. Want to know what’s even harden to take care of? Clothes that all of these boy’s wear! Yup, Boys Are Tough, Especially On Their Clothes and that means I have to be even tougher! Tough in the way I handle those messes and stains of course! So if you are like me and live in a household of boys, this one is for you!

Boys Are Tough, Especially On Their Clothes...

Boys Are Tough, Especially On Their Clothes…

When you become a parent, you truly have to learn the ins and outs of everything. You learn to adjust to a new sleep schedule (to a certain extent), you learn to handle the moods of your children like a pro, and you learn how to be proficient with helping clean up their messes. I for one, like to think that I’ve become a laundry pro. So much in fact, I don’t even like my husband to do the laundry. Don’t get me wrong, he’s definitely tried to help but I am so particular in the way I do it, that I like to do it myself.

It goes a little something like this…

First, I remove said clothes that contain messes or stains on them from my boys. I mean, how else am I going to get them clean?

Second, I add them to a secret pile. This way I know they are clothes that need to be taken care of and pretreated for stains. Keeps them away from the clothes I can immediately start washing. Smart, right?

Last but not least, I pretreat those stains! Sure, there is lots of ways to do this but using a toothbrush or a sponge to scrub those stains, is just not for me. I want to spray, give it a few minutes while I browse Facebook, throw in the wash and be done. After all, who has all the time and energy in the world to put elbow grease into each and every stain on your family’s clothes? I know I don’t!

That’s why I’ve found a better way to clean and I love me some OxiClean ™!OxiClean

This week alone I had several stains I had to deal with. The first one was where my husband and I went out to dinner. He wore a new shirt that I loved him in and guess what? He ended up getting some spicy mayo on it within a matter of a few minutes. As soon as we got home, I sprayed some OxiClean ™ Max Force Spray onto the area and allowed it to sit a few minutes before washing and drying as normal. The shirt was good as new.shirt

Just last night our family went out for dinner and we ended up getting pasta. Our youngest son Tarek, had spaghetti and I can swear he had more on him than in him. Dried spaghetti is NOT an easy stain to get out but luckily the shorts were a patterned green and I had the OxiClean ™ Max Force Foam on hand. I sprayed the foam on the areas where the spaghetti stains were. I waited about 10 minutes then washed and dried as normal. Again, clothes were as good as new!shortsNow are you ready for my favorite stain of all? HA! Well, to end this week of stains, my husband and I were enjoying some red wine in our backyard listening to music and chatting while our kids slept. Our puppy started barking so my husband tried to go out into our dark yard to grab him to make him quiet (it was past 10 PM here and our neighbors get cranky with noise). Anyways, he tripped over a large play ball and spilled wine all over his white t-shirt. Yep, another stain that is so so hard to get out. I knew I had to really bust out the big guns on this one so I rushed the shirt inside (while it was still wet) and used the OxiClean ™ Max Force Gel Stick on it. The top actually has little beads to help rub the stain out. I let this one sit for about an hour before I washed and it came out white as white.white shirt

So here’s the thing, I know there are many amazing products and/or home remedies you can use on stains. But really, if one brand or one product (in this case 3 amazing products) works, why not just stick with something you know will get the job done right the first time? For me, stains have truly become part of my life but it doesn’t mean I have to put up with it or they just need to hang around. I choose OxiClean ™ to get out stains in my home because it’s the easy and effective way to do so. I’d love to hear what you use!
