Easy Damper with Golden Syrup {Australian Breakfast}

Try your hand at making this traditional homemade Australian bread, Damper–topped with butter and golden syrup!
INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING DAMPER
- 3 cups of self-rising flour
- 80g of butter
- A pinch of salter
- 3/4 cup of water
HOW TO MAKE DAMPER
1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees celsius and line a baking tray with either baking paper or oil/butter.
2. Pour the flour and salt into a bowl, then add the butter and use your fingers to rub it into the flour mixture. Do this until the flour looks like breadcrumbs.
3. Add the water and using a spoon, mix together. Then use your hands to bring together.
4. Using your hands, knead the dough and form it into a disc.
5. Cook for around 25 minutes, or until the bread is golden. When you hit it, it should sound hollow.Cut and serve with butter and golden syrup!
