Chris Pratt Hits Back At ‘Super Mario Bros.’ Fans Who Are Talking Smack About The New Film
Chris Pratt is responding to the haters that have bad things to say about the new Super Mario Bros. film.
ICYMI, Chris Pratt is staring as the big ‘M’ — Mario — in the new Super Mario Bros. film set to open April 5th.
Side Note: My son is straight up giddy about this new film. We will be first in line for tickets come April 5th!
Not only do we get the voice talents of Chris Pratt, the rest of the cast is as star studded as you would ever want it to be.
Seth Rogan is set to hit the big screen as the voice of that barrel-loving ape, Donkey Kong.
Anya Taylor-Joy voices the role of Princess Peach, Jack Black is Bowser, Charlie Day is Luigi, and Keegan-Michael Key is Toad.
This seriously sounds like it’s going to be a fun movie — but there are people out there who have a thing or two to say about the film.
Why Are People Mad That Chris Pratt Is Voicing Mario?
They are a little pissed that Chris Pratt was chosen to voice Mario over Charles Martinet, the guy who voices Mario in the video games.
People were also shocked — and a little sad — that Mario has dropped his famous Italian accent for the film.
Okay. That’s a little bit weird.
But, Chris Pratt is now responding, and y’all leave him alone!!
Oh, I totally get it, man. There’s a passionate fan base and I’m one of the fans. I get it. Mostly, people don’t want something like this to get screwed up. They’re precious about it. They’re careful. And I’m grateful for that.

Chris gets that people hold these characters so close to their hearts. It is always going to be hard to play a character like that, and he understands.
And also, I care just as much as everyone else to make sure that doesn’t get screwed up.
Chris Pratt
He said that he really tried to do the character justice. He worked hard to bring Mario to life in a way that was respectful and fun.
I worked really closely with the directors and trying out a few things and landed on something that I’m really proud of and can’t wait for people to see and hear,

Chris is urging people to go see the movie before judging too harshly.
Go watch the movie, and then we can talk — I really think that once you see the movie — you know what, in all honesty, I think you probably need to watch it twice.
