Many of us dream of a white Christmas during the holiday season (I sure do), and while that dream may come as a reality for several states this year, some of us are stuck with just rain.

And according to one of the many folklores that are written about Christmas, there’s one that talks specifically about the winter weather on the jolly holiday and what that means for the future months.

Therefore, if you wake up on Christmas morning and notice the sheet of snow missing from the driveway, you might get your wish for snow on Easter instead!

More specifically, weather folklores that talk about Christmas will suggest that the weather on Christmas day will be the opposite of what happens later on Easter.

And while there are many versions of weather folklore that revolve around Christmas, this folklore is as follows: “Green Christmas, white Easter.”

So if you see grass on the front lawn without the heavy snow, you can expect a possible snowy Easter.

However, if it does snow on Christmas, the opposite will occur: “Christmas in snow, Easter in mud.”

So whether you’re hoping for blankets of snow on Christmas or warm grass on Easter, depending on the weather on Christmas day, might just determine the weather for Easter too!
