Jim Carrey May Be Returning For ‘The Grinch 2’ And My Heart Just Grew 3 Sizes
The rumor mill is swirling!
If reports are true, Jim Carrey will be returning to the Christmas role that he made famous over 20 years ago.
It looks like we just might be headed back to Whoville, and I really couldn’t be more excited for this one!
That green hero of Christmas, the Grinch, is a Christmas staple, and there really isn’t anyone that’s done it better than Jim Carrey.
Now, Jim has previously said that there is no way he would reprise the Grinch for eager audiences.
I find sequels are a function of commerce for the most part. At least the two I’ve done, they were characters I enjoyed doing, but I did find myself almost parroting myself at that point.
Jim Carrey
But, according to Giant Freakin Robot, a reliable source has confirmed that Universal Pictures has said they will be making a sequel to the live-action Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
And, you can’t remake the live-action Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas without Jim Carrey, right?!?
Now, as of now, talk of a remake of Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas is just in the rumor phase — although the news instantly made my little grinchy heart grow three sizes!
Even though Jim Carrey had made it clear that he didn’t want to do sequels, it seems like he just might have changed his tune.
After all, Jim headed back into the studio to remake Dumb and Dumberer, Sonic the Hedgehog, and he has announced he would be down to make a sequel to 2003’s Bruce Almighty.
Please, please, please let this grinchy rumor come to fruition!
