If you are a Veteran or a person who receives Supplemental Security Income, you best listen up.

If you have kids, or other dependents in your care, you have until May 5th to update your information if you want to receive ALL of the stimulus money you have coming to you.

Sure, I know you don’t normally have to file taxes. Don’t worry. You will get the stimulus money automatically for yourself.

But, if you want to receive the extra little bit of stimulus money due you for your dependents, you have to go update your information with the government.

By “dependent,” I am talking about anyone who lives with you who is under the age of 17.

There is a special website set up through the IRS, and it is for people who don’t normally have to file their taxes.

You have to go here to let the government know your dependent status.

SSI and VA beneficiaries should receive their money by mid-May.

Social Security and Railroad Retirement beneficiaries will start to see their checks this week.

“But,” you are thinking, “I don’t want the government to know all my business!”

Well, then you also don’t want the government giving you money, because they can’t give you what they don’t know about.

So, get yourself on over to the IRS website, and take the few minutes it takes to input your dependent information.

Please. I don’t want you to miss out on stimulus money. Every little bit helps, AMIRITE?
