McDonald’s Plans To Add a $5 Meal Deal For Those Of Us Who Are Too Broke For Fast Food
It is a rarity for me to pick up fast food for my family, when I do it’s usually Taco Bueno because it’s cheap and good.
Or, if I have a few extra bucks I’m heading to Chick-Fil-A because it’s delicious.
McDonald’s used to be the good and cheap option years ago, but from what I hear from McDonald’s fans, those prices are no longer cheap.
An anonymous source reported to Bloomberg that McDonald’s plans to add a $5 meal deal in the U.S. so that people will return to the fast food chain.
From what was reported it looks like the new meal deal will offer a choice between the McChicken or the McDouble and come with a side of fries and a drink.
A McChicken sandwich on its own is currently running about $5.59 in some areas, and prices can be higher or lower depending on the location.
When the news broke on this possibility, McDonald’s shares rose 2.7%, which is the biggest increase since January of 2023.
Consumers continue to be even more discriminating with every dollar that they spend as they face elevated prices in their day-to-day spending.
McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski said in an earnings call.
Yep, Chris… Americans are BROKE.
Did you know the McDonald’s Big Mac Combo can cost as much as $18 in some areas? What? $18! I can buy a few days worth of groceries for that from Aldi!
Currently, there is no confirmation on the new meal deal information. When we hear more we will update.
