If you love space, you are going to want to take advantage of this opportunity to see the comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE)! Right now you can see it in the morning skies, but in a few days, you will be able to see it at dusk.

This comet was discovered on March 27, 2020, from about 326 miles above Earth’s surface by NEOWISE, (Near Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer). NEOWISE is a space telescope that was launched by NASA back in 2009.

It has brightened over the past several days so that it is visible to the naked eye. Right now you can spot it at dawn low in the north-northeast horizon.

However, July 12th – 15th, the comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) will be visible at dusk which is just after sunset. Also, it will be low on the northwest horizon.

You will want to stay away from places that have heavy light pollution, such as large cities. You’ll most likely have an easier time spotting it when it becomes more visible in the evening time.

If you have binoculars or a telescope, take them outside and look to the sky! While you can see it with just your eyes, it doesn’t hurt to use something more powerful for a better view!

Grab a camera and your best lens and see what shots you can get! There are some gorgeous images on Instagram.

The easiest way to find NEOWISE is to look for Venus first and then look to the left of Venus where the star Capella is.

Right now the comet can be seen below Capella around dawn. Then when it is visible at dusk, you will see it to the left of Capella.
