Netflix Just Launched A “Because She Watched” Collection to Celebrate International Women’s Day
Today marks International Women’s day, and to celebrate International Women, Netflix has done something cool.
Netflix has teamed up with UN Women to celebrate International Women with a special collection called “Because She Watched”.
It is a collection of series, documentaries and films personally recommended by 55 women in the entertainment industry, some of which you might know.
Lana Condor (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) and Chris Nee (Orange is the New Black), are just a few women celebrities who were involved in the making of this program.
Some of the content included in this collection involves Scandal, Unbreakable, Sex Education and much more.
“This collaboration is about taking on the challenge of telling women’s stories and showing women in all of their diversity. It’s about making visible the invisible, and proving that only by fully representing and including women on screen, behind-the-camera and in our narratives overall, society will truly flourish.” said Anita Bhatia, deputy executive director of UN Women.
Viewers can find the collection on Netflix.com/BecauseSheWatched, or by searching “Because She Watched” on Netflix.
Creating a stronger equality towards women is the main takeaway on why International Women’s Day is celebrated. So ladies, make sure to celebrate you today, and watch the trailer below to feel even more empowered about being a woman!
