Pan Fried Green Beans Almondine
On busy nights it’s always so tempting to microwave up some veggies as a side for our family dinners. And while that is fine (absolutely no judgment here, ever), I wanted to share this quick and tasty recipe for Pan Fried Green Beans Almondine as a possible replacement. They take only a couple of minutes longer to make, and the taste is out of this world. Enjoy!
What You Need To Make Pan Fried Green Beans Almondine:
- 1 8oz package of uncooked French Green Beans (sometimes called Haricot Verts)
- 1/2 cup fire roasted red peppers, cut into 1″ pieces
- 3 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup roasted almonds, slivered
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic (optional)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- salt and pepper to taste
How To Make Pan Fried Green Beans Almondine:
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium high heat and add green beans, garlic, and onion powder. Note: some people cut the tips off of the green beans, but I always leave mine on. Stirring occasionally, allow beans to cook until they are your desired consistency. Once there, add the roasted red peppers and almonds to heat (they are both already cooked). Serve with salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
Pro Tip: This recipe for Pan Fried Green Beans Almondine is truly about as easy as cooking can get, and you might feel like you are cheating by making it. Don’t. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time you make a homemade dish for your family. In fact, that extra time saved from cooking can be extra time on homework, or maybe even just sitting down and talking with your kids. There are always more complicated recipes out there, but give yourself a break…you are only one person.
