Phil Collins Gives Emotional Farewell At His Last Concert
My very first concert — and still the best I’ve been to — was Phil Collins. That makes this news extra sad.
Phil Collins has been having increasing health issues, and as such, he officially gave his LAST concert on Saturday evening.
I wish I could have gone — but London is a bit too far for a road trip.
Wanna feel really old? Phil Collins is freaking 71 years old!!
Phil has come such a long way from the character we see in footage from the 80s. We know him as this guy who kills it on the drums, plays the piano, and owns any stage that is lucky enough to host him.
He has a history of back problems, and has gotten increasingly frail. It was a bit of a shock to see that he had to do the show sitting down.
The 2007 Genesis reunion tour left Phil with a dislocated vertebra in his neck that caused nerve damage in his hands. He has been using a walking stick since he had major surgery on his back in October 2015.

It is sad to see the little frail Phil. A guy who walks with a cane and needs to use a chair to finish a concert and sing his songs. *Teary Emoji*
What Is Next For Phil Collins?
It’s the last stop of our tour, and it’s the last show for Genesis. After tonight we all have to get real jobs.
Phil Collins
Phil hasn’t yet divulged what he’s going to do now that his concert days are over.
He has a son, Nic Collins, who subbed on drums for him during Saturday’s concert. Phil has said in the past that he can barely even hold a drumstick anymore.
Can you even imagine? I feel so bad for him. He was larger than life, but then LIFE happened. He suffered health problems that took him down. That has to be a horrible way to live.
Of course, my health does change things, doing the show seated changes things. But I actually found on my recent solo tours, it didn’t get in the way; the audience were still listening and responding. It’s not the way I would have written it, but it’s the way that it is.

At least he was able to go “Against All Odds” and give his fans “One More Night.” *Winky Emoji*
Phil, You’ll Be In Our Hearts forever.
