Query Letters, I hate you.

Okay, this is the hardest part of writing a book! I have my little book here, and I keep looking over it again and again, but the thing is… it isn’t a query letter, and that isn’t what people want to see! They want to see this little one page thing that I tells them all about my novel, and how I am the perfect person to write it!

So, here I am, trying to toot my own horn, and say how great my little piece of fiction is, and the thing is, I am no horn tooter! So, I did what most people do… I googled how to write a query letter, right? Here’s what I got:

Results 1 – 10 of about 323,000 for how to write a query letter.

Oh, awesome! That means I can just look through all 320,000 of those results and come up with my query letter. That is like three times as many words as are in my entire book. I am so screwed. Send Help!

  1. See, I was going to totally cheat if when I finally get to the point you’re at, I was going to find a writing coach and have them help me with the query letter. This is the one I have my eye on http://www.dorothywall.com/writing-coach.html The added bonus is that these coaches tend to know editors/agents so they know who’s going to be most receptive.

That said, WOW you wrote a BOOK! WHOOT! Nice job!
