It’s that time of year when everyone sips on those beverages that just scream jingle bells and Merry Christmas.
Obviously, one of the most popular Christmas beverages that everyone reaches for is that holiday classic — eggnog.
It’s definitely not one of my favorites, but I will totally imbibe if it’s Homemade Eggnog — Rum Please!
This year, there is a new eggnog trend that is sweeping the nation, and I’m equal parts completely grossed out and slightly intrigued.
RanchNog, as people are calling it, involves ranch dressing powder mixed with eggnog — with some maple syrup and rosemary added for good measure.
Now, I’m going to be real here. The sound of it just makes my skin crawl and my gag reflex snap to attention.
But, it sounds just disgusting enough that it might be good. Hey, it worked for Oreos Dipped In Sour Cream.
People are saying that it truly is delicious — although I can’t imagine.

How To Make RanchNog
Now, there is an actual RanchNog recipe, developed by Whiskey and Rosemary, but it is way too fancy for my taste buds — actually, I’m just too lazy to do everything with the muddling and the straining.
So, this is kind of a cheaters RanchNog recipe — for people who like to take the shortest route possible to a finished cuisine masterpiece — like me.
You are going to take about 1/2 a cup of the homemade eggnog, and pour it into a glass.
To that, you want to add 1 shot glass full of Mezcal (it’s like tequila), 1 shot glass full of pure maple syrup, and 1 to 2 shakes of ground rosemary.
Then you dump in about 1/4 teaspoon of powdered ranch dressing — we all know that Hidden Valley is the best — into the mix.
Ideally, you want to shake it up — but you can also stir vigorously until it’s all combined.
Now, you want to add ice to fill up the glass.
That’s it. All that’s left to do is sample this crazy concoction.
Go ahead, try it. I double-dog dare you!

- 1 Shot Glass of Mezcal (or Tequila)
- 1 Shot Glass of Pure Maple Syrup
- 1-2 Shakes of Ground Rosemary
- 1/4 teaspoon Dry Ranch Seasoning
- Pour 1/2 cup of the homemade eggnog into a glass
- Add the next 4 ingredients, and shake or stir vigorously
- Add ice to fill up the glass
- Drink up!
