Save Your Money, ‘Fantasy Island’ Turned Out To Be More Awful Than I Expected

I was hella excited for the reboot of Fantasy Island to hit theaters this February!

What a freaking letdown! I’m so disappointed right now. And I just know I can’t be the only one out there.

The premise has so much GREAT potential!

People get to go to this remote island, and relive the most significant moments in their life that didn’t originally go as planned. AKA they get a mulligan for a part of their lives that sucked.

There is only one catch. The Island is evil. It turns people’s fantasies into horrors.

Sounds fun, right?!?

Not so much. If only the movie lived up to its potential. Boo!

First of all, there are WAY too many storylines to follow. I felt like I should have brought a pad of paper and pen into the theater, so I could make a map of who was what, and who had what happen to them.

Second, since there were so many storylines, the movie never got to fully dissect any one storyline.

Once again, while there was great potential, they would have done better to focus on one or two sets of people in the hour-and-a-half we had to sit through this freaking train wreck.

They could have maybe made sequels for the others. There was simply too much going on! It winded up being more tedious than exciting and fun.

I wanted so badly to love this movie. I kept thinking it would get better as I sat there watching — but it only got worse.

Please, movie studios, spend your time focusing on one storyline and actual follow through that makes since, instead of trying to cram so much god-awful plot into one film.

Don’t take my word for it. If someone offers you a free ticket to this particular movie, go see it.

Otherwise, when it comes to a streaming service, catch it then, and let me know what you think.

Oh, and by the way, Rotten Tomatoes gave it a whopping 9% out of 100% so, there ya go…
