It’s the news we have all been waiting and hoping for …
Spider-Man Will Remain In The Marvel Cinematic Universe
It was previously announced that Disney and Sony were at an impasse, and Spider-Man was swinging off on his web to no longer be part of the Marvel Universe.
Today, however, is the day that we can all breathe a sigh of relief!
It was announced that Marvel Studios will produce the next film in the Spider-Man: Homecoming series.
Sony and Marvel executives were finally able to get past their stalemate, and come to an agreement on our favorite Spidey Superhero!
Marvel is set to retain the merchandising rights, and put up about a quarter of the profits. They will also receive about a quarter of the profits. And as such … Spider-Man is back!
“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” said Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios.
Amy Pascal, who produced the first two films in the series, and will again produce the next picture, is also excited.
“This is terrific,” she stated. “Peter Parker’s story took a dramatic turn in Far From Home, and I could not be happier we will all be working together as we see where his journey goes.”
We couldn’t be happier!
Welcome Back, Spidey!
