Teachers Are Being Stretched Too Thin And Some Schools Are Even Closing Down

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Teachers are NOT APPRECIATED ENOUGH!

With the Covid crisis and all of the aftermath, one area that is definitely not getting enough attention are schools and their teachers.

School districts are starting to temporary close down or switch back to remote learning because there just isn’t enough help. And the teachers that have stayed through all of this, have just about given their all and are ready to give up.

I’ve been lucky enough to not have to deal with this. I used to be a preschool teacher, but quit a few years back. However, my mother-in-law has been a middle school teacher for almost 30 years and is suffering badly from all of this.

As much as she has loved her job over the years and claimed she’d never quit, she’s starting to dread her job, is exhausted daily, is having new things piled on her daily to keep up with demands and it just has to stop!

These are the people that we trust daily with our children. If we aren’t focusing on them and their mental health and their need of breaks and breathers, how can we expect them to give our children the education they need without a burn out?

We can only hope that teachers will start getting the support they need mentally, physically, and financially to keep going during these crazy times and be able to love their jobs again.
