Do you ever read a post on parenting and then end up going, “Well, I am failing as a parent”? Yeah, that is totally what happened here.

In case you haven’t seen it, there is a viral post circulating Facebook that has a chart with ages and times when kids should go to bed.

Now, according to this chart, my kids should be in bed by 8:15 pm and 9:30 pm. It does not say what time my almost 2-year-old should be in bed but I am assuming that would be even earlier.

But guess what? My kids don’t go to bed that early.

Let’s be real here – we have all been stuck inside since March and the last thing I want to do is make them sleep more than they have to. So, I let them stay up for a few hours later as long as they get up and get their virtual schooling done.

Yes, I totally feel like a monster!

I can totally see where this may work for kids that are going to in-person school though.

The chart was posted by Wilson Elementary on Facebook and has since been shared 462,000 times so you can imagine parents are all over with this.

Some say it’s a good idea while others are saying this is completely unrealistic especially when kids have such large workloads of schoolwork to do at home.

Bottom line is, we all have to do what we feel is best for our own kids especially because each household is different from the next.

But I am curious, what time do your kids go to bed?
