Zooey Deschanel And Will Ferrell Reenacted An Iconic Scene From ‘Elf’ And It Is Hilarious
Is it just me or did anyone else just realize that ‘Jovie” from the movie Elf is Zooey Deschanel, aka Jessica Day from the hit show New Girl?!
I’ve watched this movie countless of times and I can’t believe that I’ve just now figured out the actress who played Buddy’s future girlfriend, Jovie.
What’s even more surprising is the age of this classic Christmas film.
The movie Elf came out 17 years ago and to celebrate 17 years of spreading Christmas cheer, Will Ferrell who played Buddy the Elf and Jovie (Jessica Day) have come together virtually to recreate the iconic bathroom scene, feel old yet?
Ms. Zooey Deschanel shared the reenactment of the shower scene on her Instagram, where Buddy accidentally wanders into the women’s bathroom because he hears Jovie’s beautiful singing voice.
During that scene, Jovie is singing “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” and about halfway through, Buddy decides that it would be a swell idea to sing the chorus very loudly along with her.
After hearing another voice, Jovie soon realizes that someone else is in the bathroom with her. She turns the water off, peaks her head out of the shower curtain and screams at Buddy to close his eyes, not to look at her and to leave the bathroom immediately!
Of course Buddy runs right smack into the bathroom stall before he could completely leave the woman’s bathroom.
The clip Zooey shared on her social media is actually a clip from a live stream table read of the film that she, along with Will Ferrell, and a few other celebrities were in on.
Regarding the other characters who were not able to attend, celebrities including John Lithgow, Ken Jeong, Danny Woodburn, Jenna Ushkowitz, Busy Philipps, Ed Helms, Bradley Whitford, Wanda Sykes, and Gaten Matarazzo, joined Zooey and Will.
