Your daily nightly cleanup may include wiping the counters, soaking frying pans, and loading the dishwasher with dirty dishes, but that might now change thanks to TikTok.

Although if you notice your silverware looking a little rusty since the day you bought it or your utensils come out of the dishwasher with watermarks, this lifestyle home hack will bring the shine back to your silverware as if it was brand new out of the box.

Many social media users were quick to ask in the comment section the purpose of ripping a piece of aluminum foil, crumbling it up in a ball and tossing it in the dishwasher.

According to the creator of the video, tossing in a ball of aluminum foil in one of the silverware cubbies helps make the silverware look shinier and remove’s pesky water spots.

Alongside your regular dishwasher pods or liquid detergent, remember to rip a small piece of Reynold’s Wrap, squish it into a ball, and throw it into the dishwasher for your next cleaning cycle to omit water stains and create shinier looking forks, knives, and spoons!

It's nothing new about the foil in silverware. Restaurants have been doing it for ages.
