This Family Got A Surprise When A Momma Moose And Her Calves Decided To Hang Out In Their Backyard
I swear, nothing fun EVER happens here at my house. The closest I get to something cool like this, is deer in my front yard, and maybe a rogue squirrel sitting on my birdfeeder in the back.
Leave it to Alaska.
Roland Rydstrom, who lives in Anchorage, Alaska, got a little surprise when he looked out his work-from-home window at his house, and saw this little family of moose hanging out in his backyard.
This momma moose and her calves decided his yard was the perfect spot to lounge in the sun for the day, and enjoy the warmer weather. He also documented and shared the ENTIRE thing for us…
The view outside my Covid home office is better than yours today. ?

They arrived a bit before 9 am and except for two quick trips around the neighborhood, they’ve been camped out here all day.
Awww it looks like they are napping! How cute!
That grass DOES look pretty soft. I can’t say I blame them! These moose were just taking all the time they wanted to soak up the sun’s rays, and enjoy this beautiful Alaskan day.
Of course, they had to taste test the furniture and make sure it wasn’t food.
The Moose momma had to sample a bit of lunch from the gorgeous greenery in the backyard.
Roland Rydstrom was able to capture the whole thing from his home office. The moose will frequently come visit his backyard, but he hadn’t seen them in a couple months. They sure made up for it on this day!
The moose stayed most of the day. Roland had to get to work after a few pictures were taken, but was surprised when he looked up into the backyard, and they were still there!
I guess something good can come from being stuck at home in quarantine! Roland would have totally missed out on this little moose family if he had not been home.
After a long day of lounging around, the moose momma fed her babies in the peace and quiet of the backyard.
Then this little moose family said, “Peace Out,” and left Ronald’s backyard. Their fun day of snoozing on the soft grass in the sun was over.
