Netflix Just Dropped ‘The Old Guard’ Starring Charlize Theron And People Cannot Get Enough
Charlize Theron is back in a Netflix Original film: The Old Guard. I just LOVE Charlize Theron, don’t you? She simply doesn’t make a bad film! Prove me wrong.
Talk about a badass!! In The Old Guard, Charlize plays a 6,000 year old warrior who is part of a group of four mysterious soldiers that have protected humanity for centuries.
These warriors secretly battle and fight to keep humanity safe, and here’s the kicker, they can’t die. This unique ability has been kept secret for centuries, until now.
The Old Guard is a “fairy tale of blood and bullets” following immortal soldiers whose lives are defined by conflict. They discover their immortality when they are killed (or, rather, not killed) on a battlefield, and spend the centuries after traveling the world in one cohesive group, fighting for what they believe to be right.

Of course, individually, they hope for the day when their immortality will disappear, a random occurrence that has only happened to one of their kind in the past.

Now, the team must try to protect their existence as a pharmaceutical company has learned of their secret, and is intent on harvesting their abilities, to monopolize on this research. Surprise, surprise, right?
The Old Guard is adapted from a graphic novel of the same name, that has quite a fanbase. Sometimes, when a movie is adapted from a book or comic, the movie — well, let’s be honest — sucks. That doesn’t appear to be the case with this film. Fans are loving it!
