Rum and Coke Cake Sundae Is Beyond Delicious
Rum and Coke was the first adult beverage I ever ordered at a bar. I wasn’t really sure what I was getting, but I had heard it on a show, and I thought it sounded pretty cool. This Rum and Coke Cake Sundae totally reminds me of that!
Ingredients For Making a Rum and Coke Cake Sundae
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup butter
- ½ cup milk
- 2 cups Cake Flour (you can use all purpose)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup cocoa powder (we used Hershey’s Special Dark!)
- 1 cup of cola
- 1 shot of rum
Instructions for Making a Rum and Coke Cake Sundae
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease and flour a 9×13 pan.
3. Using a hand mixer, combine the sugar, eggs, vanilla, butter and milk, and blend until smooth.
4. Add the flour, baking soda and cocoa powder. Mix well. (We do not use a two bowl method because we don’t like the extra dirty dishes! It comes out the same every time!)
5. Stir in the rum and coke, mix well.
6. Pour into the greased pan, tap the pan on the counter a few times to remove air bubbles.
7. Bake for 40 minutes or until a knife (toothpick, your choice) comes out clean when inserted in the middle.
Serving Suggestion
Make an adult sundae! Top with ice cream, hot fudge and cherries that have been soaked in rum! Enjoy.
