Ryan Gosling Gives Hilarious Response To Those That Think He's "Too Old" To Play Ken

Poor Ryan Gosling. He put it all out there for the Barbie movie, and people have nothing but hate to spew.

It’s always something with the haters, but now they are saying Ryan is “too old” to play Ken.

I didn’t know Ken had an age limit, but okay?

Y’all know Ken is actually like 60 years old, right? Ryan is only 42. LOL!!

Now, if you couldn’t tell, I’m team Ryan Gosling, all the way. I’ll go see the Barbie movie — even though there’s so much pink, and I don’t know if my dark little heart can handle it — just because Ryan is in it.

But, I’m not the only one that thinks it’s silly that people are saying Ryan Gosling is just “too old” to play the plastic male counterpart to Barbie.

Ryan, himself, had a few things to say, and good for him!

His job is beach. For 60 years, his job has been beach. What the fuck does that even mean?

And everyone was fine with that, for him to have a job that is nothing. But suddenly, it’s like, ‘No, we’ve cared about Ken this whole time.’ No, you didn’t. You never did. You never cared. Barbie never fucked with Ken. That’s the point. If you ever really cared about Ken, you would know that nobody cared about Ken. So your hypocrisy is exposed. This is why his story must be told.

But, why in the world would such a serious actor choose to play such a — shall we say LOUD — role?

There’s something about this Ken that really, I think, relates to that version of myself. Just, like, the guy that was putting on Hammer pants and dancing at the mall and smelling like Drakkar Noir and Aqua Net-ing bangs. I owe that kid a lot. I feel like I was very quick to distance myself from him when I started making more serious films. But the reality is that, like, he’s the reason I have everything I have.
