‘Spiderhead’ Is The New Netflix Thriller Starring Chris Hemsworth And I Can’t Wait
There is not one thing about this new Netflix original movie that I am not excited about.
It’s Netflix — check. It’s a dystopian flick — check. It’s a thriller — check. It stars Chris Hemsworth — check, check, check!
Spiderhead is based on a short story called “Escape From Spiderhead” by George Saunders, and I’m calling it right now, this film is going to be ah-mazing. The wait is going to kill me!!
The story is about two convicts in a not-so-distant dystopian esque future, who agree to undergo psychedelic style experiments, in order to get a reduced sentence.
I mean, do things like that EVER go well?!?
These convicts are given drugs that play with and alter their emotions, causing them to deal with their pasts, which aren’t always so pretty. It leads to questions of mind control and ultimately free will.
Did I mention that this new dystopian thriller is going to star Chris Hemsworth?
Last time Hemsworth starred in a film for Netflix, it was Extraction, which ended up being one of the most watched Netflix movies EVER. I’ll admit, I watched it a few times, myself!
I’m going to bet, Spiderhead gets much the same reception. Not only does it star Thor Chris Hemsworth, it also stars Miles Teller — who worked on Top Gun: Maverick — Jurnee Smollett — who you know from Lovecraft Country — and is written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick — who wrote the Deadpool script.
I’m just going to be over here impatiently waiting for any word about this new Spiderhead flick on Netflix. I can’t WAIT for the trailer!!
