The Dixie Chicks Are Releasing A New Album And It Sounds So Good To Me
I, literally can’t contain my excitement! The Dixie Chicks are releasing their first album in 13 freaking years.
It will be named GASLIGHTER, but we will have to wait to find out the release date.
Just knowing new music is out there, and it’s coming is good enough for me!
When I heard the news, I got all sentimental. I spent the morning listening to their songs on repeat, and singing them at the top of my lungs.
I had forgotten just how many awesome songs they have!
Of course, I must address the elephant in the room. These super-fabulous ladies got into some hot water waaayyyy back in 2003 for a comment lead singer, Natalie Maines, made during a concert.
Here’s the thing. So what!
We have all made wrong choices or bad decisions. Right or wrong, she was simply unfortunate enough to say it on such a public platform.
That’s out of the way, so we can move on!
We have been given the name of two of the songs off the new album: “Gaslighter “(duh) and “Go It Alone.”
Am I the only one about READY TO RUN away with anticipation?!? Gah!!
Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean this amazing trio of women is, in fact, getting back together. They are simply creating music, because it’s there to create. Does this make sense?
We will have to see if a tour emerges from the album. *Fingers Crossed*
The Chicks have collaborated in the recent past with Taylor Swift on her song “Soon You’ll Get Better.”
In 2010, they did a few shows opening for the Eagles. And, in 2016, they had a successful tour in the United States.
So, they’ve been around, but this is the first NEW MUSIC we have heard from them in years.
Let me be the first to say WE ARE READY TO MAKE NICE, and can’t wait to hear what’s to come!!
