Do love coffee and adventure? This gig might be right up your alley.

No word on what — or even IF — it pays, but housing and food are provided for the lucky two that take the job.

The Great Blasket Island is an island — obviously — that is located at the most western part of Europe, three miles off the coast of the Dingle Peninsula.

It is a quaint little village* that is COMPLETELY gorgeous, but rather remote.

They don’t have WiFi or even electricity, for that matter.

Drinking water is scarce, and has to be boiled on gas hobs. That’s a gas stove — I had to look it up, too.

How in the world does making coffee fit into having no electricity and no hot water? They have gas canisters behind the building, and those are used to power the hobs. They use kettles to tell when the water has reached the boiling point.

Hey, man, people HAVE to have their coffee! Priorities.

If living this remote life sound like your kind of dream, you can email Alice at info@greatblasketisland.net for more information.

You have to jump on this opportunity pretty quickly. They have already had quite a few interests since April of 2019. No word on when the position will be, in fact, filled.

If you are able, I say GO FOR IT! You only live once, right!

*I use the word “village,” but there are few houses. Most of the people on the island are visitors there on holiday.
