Um – this is strange news.

So, you know Dog The Bounty Hunter, right? Well, apparently, that isn’t an accurate title for him…

As it turns out, Dog The Bounty Hunter Is Not Licensed To Be A Bounty Hunter and Um, WHAT?!

Dog aka Duane Chapman has been talked about all over ever since he joined the search for Brian Laundrie.

He’s said he was getting close but that was almost a week ago and still no sign of Brian.

However, it turns out that if Dog did manage to find and detain Brian, it could be Dog himself that ends up getting into trouble with the law.

Crazy, right?

According to the Daily Mail, Dog has absolutely no legal status as a bounty hunter or private investigator.

This means that he basically has just as much power to arrest or hunt for Brian Laundry as you or I.

Yeah, that seems quite dangerous.

Experts have actually said that any attempt to arrest Brian Laundrie could potentially have Dog charged with ‘kidnapping or false imprisonment’.

So, why the hell is Dog hunting Brian in the first place? I mean, he is just playing a game of hide and seek at this point.

duanedogchapman

Apparently, people’s suspicions that Dog has been doing this for publicity all along are turning out to be correct.

Experts believe he is doing this to help land another TV show or something and that is just SO WRONG.

I truthfully thought that Dog was great at what he did and was respected in the bounty hunter community but if he isn’t legit, then what’s the point? It’s disappointing for sure.

So, I wouldn’t count on Dog finding Brian at this point because legally, he can’t.

  1. Dog the bounty hunter is nothin’ but an over rated has-been, and he’s an old man. He needs to bow out of his search for brian laundry while he still has some respect from his few dozen fans, if he has even that many

    1. Dog is the king of dogs, and he is ruff too. Just wait till he takes a bite out of you. And, you’ll have a different opinion too. 🎶 What you gonna do, 🎵 what you gonna do when the dog bites into you? 🎼 You can yell, you can scream, you can even watch your silly self 🤪on a TV screen.
You rock DOG,and dont pay any attention to those losers out there. It took me 3 times before I got my life straightened out.
      ALOHA 🤙

  2. Uhh really Now you check if he is legit???? Lolol he’s a joke and always has been in it for fame and money!

  3. He has a jailhouse mentality what do you expect from this guy he belongs in prison the worst part is that his family has to suffer

    1. @Austin, The dog was a legal bounty hunter when Beth was alive because she had the business and he worked for her and 6mos after she died the pathetic POS married her former gf so now the trailer trash couple can live happily ever after. 🤢

    2. @Austin, what makes you say that..jailhouse mentality..sometimes you need a convict to find another convict..dont like dog much.but certainly not going to disrespect the man

    3. @BisbeeEd, Beth didn’t know his current wife, ‘Sideshow Bob’. He did spend a lot of time with one of her longtime friends after her death, though.

    4. @BisbeeEd, he didn’t marry her friend, they dated and lived together then they broke up he married so chic named frannie from Colorado

  4. “Under current Florida statutes, bounty hunters, or runners as they are known in Florida, are required to be licensed as bail agents. Without a bail agent license, bounty hunting is now strictly prohibited in the state”. Brian did not jump bail, dog is just trying to get a bs tv deal. Nothing but a washed up has-been.
Reminder to all of you keyboard gangsters, Brian is NOT, (I’ll write it again, IS NOT), charged with her murder. In this wonderful country of ours, you ARE innocent UNTIL proven guilty.

    1. @Deadpool, You obviously have never been or know anyone that has been in trouble.. in our ‘great’ country you are not innocent until proven guilty..

    2. @Deadpool, unfortunately you are incorrect, we are not innocent until proven guilty or they could not legally house in a jail or detain you until they prove your innocence. We all know it is the other way around, only the rich or people with money are the only ones innocent enough to remain that way until proven innocent, the poorer stricken] overly people remain detained in jail cells until we can prove we.are.innocent , and as we all know how judicial system is very much flawed.

    3. @Deadpool, You cannot be serious. I know that if I was on an extended road trip with my wife and we got separated from one another in a national park I would not leave that area until I found her alive or worse yet deceased! I know that I’m not alone in this reaction. I do realize that we the people are innocent until proven guilty. Don’t you think that leaving your beloved behind not knowing if their welfare was good to go is a very big red flag? Seriously what type of person does that? Even if the both of you call it quits for good! Also if they had a falling out wouldn’t Gabby keep the van that was in her ownership? His actions are VERY ABNORMAL to say the least. Wouldn’t Gabby need her credit/debit card for herself? YES SHE WOULD UNLESS SHE NO LONGER NEEDED SHELTER, FOOD, & SOME MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION HOME! He is wanted for illegally using her cards. Why didn’t he use his own money? So many red flags that show that there was foul play, so so many to ignore! He then returns home to his parents house & nobody questions the elephant in the room “where is Gabby”.??? There is something rotten in Denmark about this scenario! He made himself his own worst enemy when it comes to quilt! Now he’s on a hiking trip.?! Yeah right.! If that’s true then me saying the moon is made of spaghetti is also true! I could go on &on about this POS, but I think I’ve made my point many times over!

    4. @Deadpool, you are absolutely correct. But you have to realize you’re speaking to a lot of excited, emotional, dramatic internet sleuths that LIVE for the next mind numbing, news saturating, domestic murder turned into movie of the week. There’s absolutely nothing sensational about this crime. It happens hundreds of times per year. But most people let the media tell them which ones to give a crap about.

  5. Badges!???!??!! Dog don’t need no stinking badges!!!!

  6. It is illigal to be a bounty hunter in florida for anyone but anyone can search for anyone

    1. @Rodney Wright, They are called “bail enforcement officers” same thing as a bounty hunter

  7. actually only 22 states require someone to be “licensed” to bounty hunt so as long as he doesn’t attempt to arrest him in one of those 22 states if he doesn’t have a license he would be in legal bounds to make the arrest

  8. Persons who have a criminal conviction cannot get a license to bounty hunter in most States.

    1. @Greta, Not true mam ,I am a bonded and liscenced bounty hunter and I have a criminal record. You cannot be a felon and have a fire arm but you can be a liscenced recovery agent.

  9. I want the writer of this nonsense to know that you could greatly benefit from seeking Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior as dog the bounty hunter has and so have I and any great person or smart person would. May Jesus redeem your soul from all evil and from going to hell. I want you to know that Jesus loves you very much and there is definitely a better way in this world than to be pointing the finger at someone else and to be full of hatred. No one came to this world perfect and you aren’t perfect either. So then give your life to Jesus and you will become a new person at heart. (2 Corinthians 5:17) God Bless! Let’s give it up for dog the bounty hunter!

    1. @Victoria, Anyone could give their life to the LORD. If you are doing something wrong you need to know about it and maybe other people needs to know about it

    2. @Victoria, got put your believe in christ everwhere but not here it has nothingto do with the search preach elsewhere

    3. @Victoria, lol, dog is not a good example of Christian behavior
      at all.

    4. @Victoria, Aww how sweet

Fu88 Dog and his wannabe bounty hunting azz
      Amen

    5. @Victoria, sounds like your making a judgement yourself

    6. @Victoria, lol… bless your heart. I’m a recovering ExExcursion. I left that thought control cult over 30 yrs ago and never looked back, never was more at peace, and never would have found my inner strength so long as I continued to weakly lean on that biblical mentality. But you do you. I hope you’re able to some day find your own strength as well, and break free of the guidebook for clowns and jokers.

    7. I feel sorry for you disin the Bible. Then i guess Jesus died in vain. Would you die for the whole world? I think not.

  10. Omg people! It’s fake!!! All of it. From day one. Everything. Laundrie is fictional, patito is fictional, her Instagram is fictional and pre fabricated. Some of the pictures they show of them are different people side by freaking side! When you look at those pics and say to yourself that doesn’t look like the same person even,,,, that’s bc its not. They’re getting you again! STOP WATCHING THE NEWS

    1. @Kelly, 100% agree
Stop believing the news . This is just a distraction

    2. @Kelly, what the hell? Lmao… why would they fake it? You need a zany.

  11. Only a hateful person could write this BS about dog the bounty hunter. At least he gets results and whoever wrote this is most likely a coward or a coward or cowardess and can’t catch a fly!

    1. @Victoria, no it is true in states like TN he is not legally allowed to be a bounty hunter and other states like KY bounty hunting itself illegal. Dog is a convicted felon so

    2. @Charisma Chaotic, so what he paid fro his crime let him be a good citizan

  12. I’m not licensed either We find Brian we gonna beat him down tie him up and give him to the police…..sue me for what???

    1. @Aaron Taylor, beat him down? For what?!? IN THIS COUNTRY YOU ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY!

    2. @Deadpool, again ,no only the rich are innocent til proven guikty,,,,

  13. This article is miss leading and has a false info in it. Now I’m not really a fan of dog the bounty hunter, but this is wrong what this person wrote and the person that wrote this said that it was wrong and disrespect that dog is bounty hunting for coult or publicity!!!! But what is this person doing writing this article???? They are writing it just for clicks and to do the same thing as dog is supposedly. Like the person who wrote this article is just lying and will say whatever to just get a click. But atless dogis out there trying to do something. Now to get to the point where this article is full of lies and is misleading. !!! Now you do not need a license or need to be a P.I. (private investigator) to arrest someone who is wanted by the police !!! That is what is called a citizen’s arrest !!!! Also on that not, why do you think America most wanted poster or a wanted poster are handed out !!! Also if a citizen couldn’t do anything then why would they say wanted dead or alive at 1 time ??? Thats because a citizen can make a arrest with any license. Now I will say this that yes sum states not all states you do need a license to carry a fire arm to be a private eye in sum states. But not all states. Most states anyone can be a private eye . You only need a license if you choose to carry a firearm . But other then that anyone can be a private eye or bounty hunter. Where I think this person may have gotten confused about is that in sum states and very very few . You need to have sum proof of sum training. In even less states yes you need sum kinda paper work to do sum stuff. Like anyone can be a private eye. But whenever you star looking up phone records and other I fo in the police data base yes you need to be a retired police offer or a government job you get approved. So you can look at that data base. But if you wanted to be a bounty hunter and not look into the police data base then you can be a boy to hunter. But like I said at less dog is trying to do so.ethkng good for everyone and that mean brain too. If dog finds him he’ll have a real talk with dude and help him out. But the person writing this is writing it with hate in there heart and they don’t care about brain they are and were only thinking whenever writing this. How can you get more click and what can you say to get poeple upset or try and say something to bring dog down and make him look bad. But to get to another point this is what wrong with the news and media these days. And this is the stuff that is tiring this great country apart! Scary time someone write sum garbage like this they are killing a little piece of America. This is kinda stuff that fuels all the hatred and vel . We need good old news. When news was news and that its. Whenever the news was all about just telling the truth and not trying to put there own spine on it. I remember watching the news when I was kid and the news lady would tell you the news but tell you all the facts and everything without putting her 2 cents in or misleading you. The news whenever I was a kid in the states and the news in today world are like 2 different things. Its almost like 2 different people or times.

    1. @jacob a claypool, actually you are wrong dude.
Dog already contacted A & E trying to get a show out of this and was immediately turned down.
He is a reality star actor..that is all fake..none of them are real.
You must be living in a fantasy world.
Honestly, do you really think all those ‘criminals’ bow and cower from dog??
He’s older than your God for Christ’s sake.

    2. @Mary, so I take it you work for A&E in order to get this I fo…fact check before you write stuff, people on here look real uneducated talking about everything n nothing with no fact checking first….this is why there is so much hate in the world now, situational divide….control the news, you control the people….the uneducated people that is….

    3. @jacob a claypool, Oh my gawd, I just read a novel..

  14. A convicted murderer looking for a suspected murderer…..
Yep, publicity stunt to try and get another tv show.

    1. @Tim, it’s actually smarter than you think Mr educated, it takes a criminal to think n act like a criminal, I have more faith in an ex criminal finding Laundrie, than any law enforcement officer in the whole USA….got to be smarter than the bear boo boo

    1. @Jane, it can be we all have the right to do a citizens arrest.

    2. @Aaron Taylor, check local laws felons lose most rights. He can call and inform authorities and follow but can’t physically stop him in any way

    3. @Charisma Chaotic, yes he can, it’s called a citizens arrest. Know your laws before speaking Mr. Educated

  15. I thought GDog lost his license years back when they got arrested for bounty hunting in Mexico

    1. @Jay, what license? There is no such thing as a federal bounty hunter’s license, and he certainly wouldn’t have had a Mexican license (if one exists). In Hawaii, where his bail bonds company operates, no license is required except the license for the business.

This hack journalist is either lazy and ignorant, or disingenuous. Nobody may call themselves a “bounty hunter” in Florida, licensed or not. And for what Dog is doing, no license is needed–he’s not pursuing a bail jumper. As long as he doesn’t try to use handcuffs or any sort of excessive force if/when he encounters Laundrie (and I’m certain he wouldn’t, he’d just call the police and have them snag Laundrie), then he’s totally fine.

In fact, the news just this morning is that Laundrie’s father, Chris, has joined the search for Brian. Is Ms. Pyper here going to write a sensationalized hit piece about him, as well?

      www(dot)nbcnewyork(dot)com/news/local/brian-laundrie-dad-joins-fbi-search-for-1st-time-gabby-petito-family-thinks-hes-alive/3311921/

    2. @Nick Dalton, incorrect as long as your state you licenced in has same qualifications minimum then your license would be recognized

  16. He can track him down, He can not make an arrest…. he would have to call law enforcement for that.

  17. Dog does have a license he has been a bail bondsman for years I’m so sick and tired of every one bashing him and his family

    1. @Mary Ruiz, For a bail bondsman to be required in this case, there would have to be a bail jumper.

    2. @Mary Ruiz, dog is a piece of shat! He cares only about another show.

  18. This article is ridiculous. If he was not legal to be out there, the hundreds of law enforcement officers that are there would have told him to leave. They do not allow just anyone out there walking around with them. Although it is not advised in most cases, anyone can hunt for a fugitive. There is also a little thing called citizens arrest that can be utilized as well. Dog has been doing this stuff for years. He is highly recognized among law enforcement officers, and I believe, respected by most. Is he trying to get publicity? Probably, but why should every other person be able to and not him? If he can help find this scum-bag, then let him help.

    1. @Paul, you are absolutely correct. I am a retired recovery agent.

    2. @Paul, indeed people do change and dog is very good man and I think people need to back off from him I don’t see no other bounty hunters offering to help him

    3. @Danny R wilson, no other bounty hunters are trying to get a show..

  19. You people are morons. And the person writing this garbage needs to be fired and sued just for being stupid

    1. I meant the writers are morons not the people commenting

  20. He is a POS trying to make a name for him self again. He should be arrested for hindering
    A crime. Or something

    1. @David Litzinger, Yeah, let’s just make up a crime to charge him with. 🙄

God forbid a public figure “make a name for himself” by helping serve the public interest. What a POS, alright. He’s done so. much. hindering! WOOOOOO!

    2. @Nick Dalton, sorry, I missed the memo..what exactly ‘good’ has he done???

  21. There are states in the US that don’t require you to be a licensed bounty hunter.

Also, Dog and his team have been travelling with a plain clothes police officer.

You cannot discount Dogs years of experience and large network of people that he has built over the years.

    1. @Ben, yea that because if dog has a actual officer with him then he can apprehend the suspect and help the officer to make the arrest it is called a citizen arrest anyone even a convicted felon can do it that’s anywhere u go

  22. Can’t he make a citizens arrest? Why would they care if he had a license… don’t they want to find him.

    1. @AgendaBurnett, that’s my thought anyone can make a citizens arrest

    2. @Mary Becker, Yes if Dog nabs him, he can tell him he’s under citizens arrest however one thing has to be done to do it legally. Dog has to tell the suspect he is under arrest in front of cops they called.

    3. @John Fontenot, to make a citizens arrest you have to witness the suspect actually commit a crime.

    4. @Mary Becker, Goober did it in Mayberry so it must be legal.
