Plus, it’s totally the perfect drink for summer poolside fun…I mean, it’s freaking WATERMELON!
World’s Best Homemade Frozen Watermelon Margarita
Now, if you’re not all-in for the watermelon, this is probably NOT the best recipe for you.
That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t make it, and maybe just try it.
But, you’re going to experience this homemade watermelon margarita in a whole different way than, say, a person that would eat watermelon for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the summer.
Namely, me. LOL!
In all seriousness, though, for the watermelon-fan, this frozen watermelon margarita is, without a doubt, and amazing treat.
You get all the smooth frozen-ey texture of a margarita–and all that amazing smell, taste and sweetness from the watermelon.
It all starts with the best ingredients.
Now, I prefer to go with Jose for my tequila–it’s what works for me.
But you can mix it up, if you want.
Just go easy–because too much tequila will easily overpower your watermelon, if you’re not careful.
And, about that.
If you get a watermelon without much flavor, you’re going to be super disappointed.
So, go for the watermelon at the store with the most watermelon-ey smell–then you’ll have a lot of flavor.
Or grow your own watermelon–you’ll get even more flavor that way, but it takes a little longer. LOL!
Now, I did not de-seed my watermelon, but it just had those tiny, baby seeds, so whatever.
And I just plopped it on top of my ice–nothing fancy there.
Add your tequila.
A shot, maybe 2, but no more, because, again, you don’t want to overpower the flavor of your watermelon.
Then it’s time for the triple sec–which I’m not even sure what it is or what it adds, but that’s what you do.
You add the triple sec.
And here’s where the magic happens.
If you do not have an immersion blender, get one.
It’s super fast, easy to use and, frankly, makes an amazing freaking margarita.
Like magic, in less than about 3 minutes of mushing and blending, you get a frothy, frozen magical goodness that’s literally ready for the glass.
But, your glass, sadly, is not ready for your watermelon margarita.
Dip the rim in the margarita–just do it!
So much sugar!
This is going to add so much to your watermelon margarita experience, you’re probably going to need a second one…
Then pour and enjoy!
I mean, seriously, this is the easiest recipe EVER!

- 1 shot Tequila
- 1/2 shot Triple Sec
- ½ small watermelon (the personal size)
- 2 cups ice
- Sugar for rimming
- Slice watermelon and place over ice.
- Add triple sec and tequila.
- Rim glass with the margarita juice.
- Dip rim of glass in sugar.
- Pour blended mixture into glass.
