Zoom Will Be Lifting Their 40 Minute Time Limit On Calls During The Holiday Season
Many families will be spending part of their holiday season waving to grandma and grandpa through a computer this year.
Therefore, Zoom is gifting all families that have to spend their holidays apart, an early Christmas gift.
You know that pesky 40 minute time limit, well consider that now gone for Christmas!
The video chatting platform has found some Christmas cheer in their hearts this holiday season by uplifting the 40 minutes time frame across all free accounts.
According to a blog post, Zoom stated exactly why they have decided to omit the 40 limit expiration during the holidays.
“COVID-19 has changed how we live, work, and celebrate in 2020, and like everything else this year, the holiday season doesn’t look the same. As a token of appreciation to our users during an extraordinary time, we’re removing the 40-minute limit on free Zoom accounts for all meetings globally for several upcoming special occasions,” said Zoom.

The unlimited meetings Zoom has promised for free accounts have already started since last week and will continue at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, December 23rd to 6 a.m. ET on Saturday, December 26th.
Zoom has also noted that they will continue to drop the 40 minute expiration at 10 a.m. ET on December 30th until 6 a.m. ET on January 2nd, so families and friends can ring in the new year together; a day that we have all been patiently waiting to arrive.
Keep in mind that you do not have to do anything to your account to omit the 40 minute time frame during this holiday season, Zoom will be automatically doing so during the designated times.
