Dear Senior Class of 2020, We Are So Sorry
As a homebody, I didn’t even think about how this is all affecting normal people that like to do things.
Like, I didn’t even think of all of the teenagers that are excited for the last bit of high school.
I wasn’t that teenager. In fact I don’t even think about highschool.
We homeschool, and while homeschool prom for my girls is rescheduled… it wasn’t canceled. So yea, it may be a few months longer to wait, but they still get to go.
Schools everywhere are shutting down. Sporting events are canceled, including high school sports.
For many, this is the last of the sporting events they will play with their classmates. I didn’t even think about it.
For many, this is the last dance. The last prom. I didn’t even think about it.
Many won’t be able to walk the stage to get their diploma that they worked so hard for. I didn’t even think about it.
I sit here talking about how people are being selfish about things and I didn’t even think about it. Kind of makes me a hypocrite unless I acknowledge it.
I didn’t even think about it and I am sorry.
So here it is. I’m so sorry about all that you had looked forward too and will miss out on. The plans you had that will never happen. The last dance of high school.
But hear this, you can and will have so many more opportunities for things in life.
You will get through this and it will all be okay.
