The FDA Has Just Recalled Some Potatoes, Lemons, Limes, Onions and Oranges Due To Possible Listeria Contamination
Seriously, what’s up next in 2020. Wait, don’t answer that!
Undoubtedly, this year has thrown the population in for a whirlwind and has tested our patience and now the FDA has announced that onions aren’t the only food items we should be throwing out from our refrigerators.
Some lemons, limes, oranges and red potatoes are now in the mix and should be thrown out immediately.
So far, no illnesses due to the recall, have been reported but if you have any of these items in your fridge or pantry, you’ll want to check to see if they’ve been recalled.
According to the FDA, Freshouse has voluntarily reported the recall when they found Listeria monocytogenes on a piece of equipment at one of their facilities.
“We voluntarily issued this recall out of an abundance of caution with the steadfast intent to minimize even the slightest risk to public health,” Freshouse President Jamey Friedman said in a press release.
