‘Julie And The Phantoms’ Is Basically High School Musical With A Splash of Goosebumps And Your Kids Will Love It
I don’t know about your kids, but mine have officially hit the “I have nothing to watch” phase of being stuck at home.
They claim to have watched everything (which I don’t think is true) but it is why I was so excited when I heard about the new Netflix show Julie And The Phantoms. Basically it’s High School Musical with A Splash Of Goosebumps.
High schooler Julie lost her passion for music after her mom died last year. But when the ghosts of three dreamy musicians from 1995 appear, they reawaken Julie’s own inner spirit and create a new band together: Julie and the Phantoms. Based on the original Brazilian series Julie e os Fantasmas.
There is dancing, ghosts, magic, teen drama and basically everything you could want in an upbeat show for kids right now.
It reminded me so much of High School Musical, I was just waiting for Zac Efron to pop in and make a guest appearance. I mean, a girl can dream, right?
Fun fact: it was actually produced and directed by Kenny Ortega. Yes, THE Kenny Ortega that directed franchises like Disney’s High School Musical and Descendants.
So, if you or your kids enjoyed those shows, I am sure they will love this. My kids sure did. In fact, they are watching it again right now.
Julie and The Phantoms Season 1 is available on Netflix now. You can watch the trailer below.
