I am so stinkin’ giddy right now!! It was announced that Netflix just might be planning up to EIGHT seasons of Bridgerton, and I can’t freaking wait!

Just like the rest of the world, I am completely OBSESSED with the steamy and downright scandalous Netflix show that is Bridgerton.

It has been described as Downton Abbey and Gossip Girl getting together and having a baby, and then that baby being delivered by Meredith Grey — and y’all, that’s EXACTLY what it’s like.

It has already broken records, by being viewed by more than 63 MILLION households since it dropped on Christmas day, which is no small feat! Bridgerton is now the 5th most watched original series launch ever for Netflix.

Fans of the show — including ME — are now DYING to know what is to come of the Bridgertons, the Featheringtons, the Duke and Dutchess, and the rest of the families in the “Ton.”

According to The Sun, we may just get our wish, because The Powers That Be (namely Chris Van Dusen, showrunner) are hinting at EIGHT seasons of the show. *SQUEE!!*

Y’all, I loved the show so much, after I watched the first 8 episodes, I immediately jumped on Amazon, and purchased the first book in the series.

There are a total of 8 books in the series, 8 Bridgerton children, and 8 episodes per season of the show, so it would make complete sense that there be 8 seasons of the show.

This being a family of eight children and there being eight books, I would love to be able to focus and really tell stories and love stories for all the Bridgerton siblings. For each character, for sure.

I would love that [eight season]. In success, I would love that.

Chris Van Dusen, to Collider

If you don’t know what the show is about — I don’t know that we can be friends! I’m joking.

So, there is an elite group of young ladies — including the Bridgertons and the Featheringtons — that are being presented to the Queen as debutantes in order to begin their quest for a worthy suitor.

We follow them as they go through a “season” of high-society courting — think balls, courting, chaperones, scandal, steamy romances, sexy ladies and gentlemen, secrets, and surprises.

This show is so great. If you haven’t yet watched Bridgerton, I HIGHLY recommend you get on Netflix NOW, and begin binge watching the show — because, let’s be honest, that’s the way it happens.

You start watching Bridgerton, and you just. can’t. stop.

In case you missed it in the season finale — SPOILER ALERT — they kind of set us up for a second season. Did you miss it? I’ll give you a hint — it has to do with a bee.

  1. If you read the books there are actually 9 which focus on the Bridgerton family, as the last contains both second epilogues for each of the original books, and Violet Bridgerton finds love again unexpectedly, “The Bridgertons: Happily ever after”.

Then there are the Lady Whistledown titles, followed by the Smythe-Smith quartet, “You know the Bridgertons but do you know the Smythe-Smiths?”

Not to forget the Bridgerton prequels!
