As you woke up this morning to get started with your day, your feed was probably flooded with news of the Baltimore Bridge Collapse.

In case you didn’t hear, the Baltimore Bridge collapsed after a large cargo ship crashed into a pillar of Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge early Tuesday morning.

At the time of the crash, it was said that 8 construction workers who were fixing potholes on the bridge, fell into the Patapsco River. Of the 8, 2 people have since been rescued.

Currently, at least 6 people are missing and rescue efforts are underway.

Many have speculated as to why the ship crashed into the pillar to begin with and why the entire bridge just collapsed like dominoes.

However, videos circulating social media show the exact moments the ship has issues with power turning off, then on again and then off right before hitting the bridge’s pillar.

You can watch the full video here.

In the footage, you can see the ship having mechanical issues alongside thick black smoke prior to it’s crash into the bridge.

Maryland Govenor Wes Moore has declared a state of emergency, and the FBI is on the scene.

As soon as we hear more about the situation, we will update this post. We are hoping everyone else is found safe!
