The Treasury Department is Currently Working On ‘Glitches’ With Stimulus Checks
The payments have started rolling out, but many are wondering why they haven’t got theirs yet.
The Treasury Department announced today that there have been “glitches” with the coronavirus stimulus payments and they are trying to get it fixed.
The glitches are related to the direct deposit payments. They said that they are looking into those payments that should have been received already.
They also said that many people that have not received their stimulus direct deposit are those that had filed taxes with H&R Block and Turbo Tax and used the refund anticipation loan programs with those companies.
I file with Turbo Tax every year, but I do not use the anticipation loan program. We did receive our stimulus payment by direct deposit without any issues.
The anticipation loan programs are a service offered by these companies where you pay a fee and get your tax return immediately.
It is causing an issue because those payments are put on debit cards and the IRS doesn’t have their direct deposit information.
Thankfully there are ways for you to take care of this on your own and get your stimulus payment faster.
Wednesday the IRS launched an online tool called the “Get My Payment” app. This app allows you to give the IRS your direct deposit information. So you may want to go do that right now to help speed things along.
Some payments are being made by check and those could still take months to receive.
So, if you are still waiting, just know that your check is still coming but it might just take some more time.
When will the second round of checks go out
