Grant was an electrical engineer and roboticist, who joined MythBusters in its third season.. He was with the show until 2014.
Imahara is also known for helping launch Netflix’s White Rabbit Project in 2016 with his fellow MythBusters costars Kari Byron and Tory Belleci. White Rabbit Project was a show similar to MythBusters, which ran for 8 episodes, before later being cancelled.
Most people do not know that Grant Imahara worked as an animatronics model maker on all three Star Wars prequels. He also did work on The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Galaxy Quest, Van Helsing, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
He also worked with Disney on a robotics project that is now used in in most all of the Disney parks around the world.
Unfortunately, Grant is only one celebrity in an entire stream of celebrities that have passed away in July.
He joins Naya Rivera, Kelly Preston, Elvis Presley’s Grandson — Benjamin Keough, Online gamer — Byron Bernstein, YouTube star — Nicole Thea, Rapper — Lil Marlo, Charlie Daniels, Broadway star — Nick Cordero, Olympic snowboarder — Alex Pullin, Disney Channel star — Sebastián Athié, and Hugh Downs.
Our thoughts go out to Grant’s family and friends at this sad time.
