Christa Stull

Christa is a compassionate military wife and mother of a teenage daughter. She's pretty mouthy, which gets her in trouble far more often than she'd like to admit, but once you get to know her, you'll find it's all in good fun. (that's if you can get passed her resting bitch face.) She's a licensed nail Technician and is passionate about writing, painting, singing, napping and spending time with her family, (not necessarily in that order.) Her main goal in life is to bring joy and hope to others, even if she has to randomly break out in dance in public or share a personal experience with a stranger.

5 Things To Teach Children About Judging Books (And People) By Their Covers

We’ve always been told to ‘never judge a book by it’s cover’. Covers can be elaborate, plain, some are so beautiful and some are completely unattractive to the readers eye. Some have very little color, but it’s what’s in the book that matters. Even the most attractive cover can be the worst read and the …

8 Things Only Moms With Anxiety Truly Understand

It’s like a daily issue where something, and I mean SOMETHING goes weird. Us moms just seem to have those moments where we can’t find our keys just magically find them in the refrigerator or we can’t remember if we turned off our curling iron before we left home. And those moments cause so much …

5 Things I Say To Myself All The Time (And What I’m Going To Start Saying Instead)

I am the queen of negative self talk. I can find things about myself and talk myself into a feeling of self pity in less than two seconds. I could list a plethora of things I say to myself all the time, but I’m going to stick to five of the main ones. Here are …

My Favorite Thing About Summer? Going Topless!

I’ve lived in Washington State my whole life, born and raise in Spokane on the Eastern side of the state. We are blessed with four distinctive seasons. The Winters never disappoint for us snow lovers. Spring brings flowers and birds returning from the south singing their “we’re back” songs early in the morning. The Fall …

When You Know How To Properly Apply Winged Liner And Rebuild An Alternator, You’re Winning At Life!

My grandpa had me out helping him work on his little Honda Civic when I was 4 and 5 years old. I knew the difference between a flathead screw driver a Phillips, metric and standard sockets, and open ended wrenches before I was 6. He had me handing him tools and showed me what the …

My Little Pony: They’re Not Just For Kids Anymore!

My 16 year old daughter is obsessed with My Little Pony. The thing is, I actually enjoy it myself, because let’s face it: “Friendship is magic.” I feel like I know far more about My Little Pony now than I did when I was a kid. She’s taught me the different generations of ponies, like in the …

I Wear My Husband’s Boxers Everywhere And I Don’t Care What You Think

When you spend 90% of your day at home, if you’re like me you’re in your pj’s, or if its really nice out I’m in my husband boxers with a baggy t-Shirt. So what….they’re comfortable, it’s literally like wearing nothing at all…and it doesn’t get more comfortable than naked, (unless it’s in public, than no) …

Stillbirths Are A Reality, And We Need To Talk About It…

This is such a painful subject that the conversation is often avoided and yet it occurs far more than most people realize. This is my story…I hope in some way it will help others in similar situations. I’ve given birth to 2 stillborn children: one at 7 1/2 months gestation and the other at 8, …

Trying To Poop After My C-Section Nearly Killed Me

As everyone who has ever had major surgery knows, they never let you go home until you’ve had a bowel movement. They have to make sure the anesthetic didn’t effect the bowels and so even when you’re ready to get out of those horrible hospital beds and midnight interruptions awaking you to make sure you’re …

The Time I Found Out Giving Birth Is Easier Than Waxing At Home

I’m a product of the 80’s so for my time, Nair was the big thing for hair removal (I’m talking the bikini area). Effective, painless, but like shaving it grew back so fast that I was scratching my girly bits from regrowth a day after I’d done it. That’s always attractive, “No, I don’t have crabs…why …

Sometimes The Best Thing You Can Do Is Let It Go, And Walk Away

I have always been a resolution person. I can’t STAND unresolved issues. If someone is upset with me or visa versa, I like to confront and resolve as soon as possible so I can get on with my life and my mind can focus on more positive and productive things. This week, I learned a …

Life Can Always Be Better Than Just ‘Okay’

It always makes me feel sad when someone responds to me with, “My life is okay.” I think to myself, “Just, okay?” Maybe they have just faced a life-changing event that has emotionally  hurt them and “okay” is better than the pain they initially felt when it occurred. It’s a step for sure, but it …

I’m Not Invisible, So Please Don’t Ignore Me

There’s just something so infuriating about standing in a group of people who are talking and when I say something, not only do they not look at me, they ignore what I’ve just said. Am I in high school again? Is this the popular “I’m too good to talk to you” group? I spend half …

Going To The Dentist Is Like Being Abducted By Aliens

For those of you who are terrified of the dentist, you are not alone. It doesn’t help that my first visit to the dentist was far too late in life….. *cringes* 24. By then the damage was done. A broken tooth, four wisdom teeth that need extracting and 9 cavities that needed filled. We won’t …

The Unexpected Joy Of Cleaning With My Teenager

I know all you moms with teenagers can understand the dread of housecleaning day. Since my daughter was able to start picking up her own toys, we’ve cleaned house on Sundays. It’s our day.
